After moving to Brisbane early January, it’s been a super busy schedule.  After settling into my now home in Nundah,  I joined the GT test program with T8 at Phillip Island and The Bend Motorsport Park. Shortly thereafter, the Bathurst 12 Hour kicked on. Although the experience was awesome from pit lane, it wasn’t from behind the wheel of a race car.

Come February, it was now my turn to kick off my 2020 campaign with two two test days at Queensland Raceway in the number 10 Super2 car.

My objectives were quite simple:

  1. Get comfortable in the car
  2. Understand working with the team
  3. Start the learning process in the tyre and what makes the car go fast, and
  4. Gain some experience

What an awesome piece of kit. Turning the first few laps in a Supercar gave me all the feelings of excitement that I remembered from when I first stepped into my first car at the age of 12.

I feel I did a reasonable job across the two days. We ran plenty of laps across some old rubber and towards the back-end of day 2, a set of greens. More importantly, learning to work with Chris, Zac, Matty and the team was critical. Having Craig and Shane around was pretty cool too. A little star struck to be honest, but everyone has made me feel right at home at T8.

Looking forward to Round 1 at Adelaide. See you then!
